David's passion for acupuncture and Chinese medicine developed during his teenage years while studying martial arts. He began personal instruction in Chinese medicine at the age of 16 with his teacher and once he finished high school he immediately enrolled into the four year undergraduate program at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. At 21, David was the youngest graduate of Chinese medicine in Australia's history from a nationally recognised four year course. He received the annual prize for most outstanding performance in the course from the AACMA. Following a clinical internship in China David went immediately into clinical practice and post-graduate studies. He opened a full time clinic in Sydney's CBD while completing his Master's degree in Acupuncture neurophysiology from RMIT University. David has since devoted his time to both clinic practice and scholarship. He is a senior lecturer and clinical supervisor at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is currently in candidature at the University of Technology, Sydney for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. David has been fortunate enough to study under some of the world's most influential and clinically experienced practitioners and academics. These include John Dolic, Will Maclean, David Tai, Daniel Deng, James Liu, Ma Jun, and Chris Zaslawski. David is very active within the Acupuncture and Chinese medicine community, an extension of his passion for this art and science. He is an accredited member of the Australian Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine Association, member and director of the International Society for the Study of Classical Acupuncture, former president of the Paraplegia and Hemiplegia Acupuncture Society, and former deputy chair and continuing education officer of the AACMA NSW State Committee.
